Athletes with Diabetes: The Sequel

Want to get more from every kick, pitch, stroke and swing? Join guest athletes for a half-day of serious fun!

As teens and parents learned during the first Athletes with Diabetes (AWD) session back in March, diabetes doesn’t have to get in the way of your child’s athletic performance—or the level at which he competes. All he needs is some sound medical and sports-training advice. That’s the goal of AWD: to show him how he can succeed, and excel, as a competitor.

Through fun activities and confidential forums with experts, this second in the Athletes with Diabetes series will focus on insulin and strategies for exercise, using separate breakout sessions for parents and children, as well as interactive demonstrations.

You and your teen will hear from an endocrinologist, mental health professional, adolescent medicine specialist, athletic trainer, dietitian and several guest athletes with diabetes. For updates on these presenters and guests, check www.lvh.org/diabetes.
